Capabilities

Aspian Alliance operates across the full arc of a digital transformation programme — from the strategy that frames the investment, through the systems that deliver it, to the operational handover that sustains it. Our work routinely spans multiple entities within complex group structures, where systems must interoperate across businesses with different operational and regulatory requirements.

01

Digital Strategy & Advisory

We help leadership teams answer the questions that precede any serious digital investment. What are we trying to change? Which capabilities do we need to build, buy, or partner for? What does a credible roadmap look like, costed and sequenced?

Our bias is toward roadmaps an organisation can execute with the people it has — not the people a strategy deck assumes it can hire.

Engagements typically include:

  • Current-state assessment and capability mapping
  • Target operating model design
  • Technology roadmap and investment case
  • Vendor and procurement strategy
02

Platform & Portal Engineering

We design and build the web platforms, portals, and registries through which institutions interact with their stakeholders — citizens, members, licensees, customers, regulators.

Our engineering practice is built around modern, well-supported technology: cloud-native infrastructure, server-side rendered web applications, secure authentication, and observability built in from day one.

We work to written infrastructure-as-code as a matter of principle. If a system cannot be rebuilt from its source repository, it is not a system we are willing to leave behind.

Typical work includes:

  • Member, licensee, and citizen portals
  • Regulatory and registry systems
  • Stakeholder communication and self-service platforms
  • Migration of legacy systems to supported, modern stacks
03

Cloud & Infrastructure

We deploy and operate production workloads on AWS.

We favour managed services over bespoke infrastructure unless there is a clear operational reason not to — because every line of bespoke infrastructure is a line our clients will eventually have to maintain.

Areas of focus:

  • AWS landing zone design and account governance
  • Containerised workloads on ECS Fargate
  • Infrastructure-as-Code (CDK, Terraform)
  • Observability, alerting, and operational runbooks
  • Cost optimisation and FinOps for ongoing workloads
04

Data & AI Enablement

We help organisations get to the point where their data is trustworthy, accessible, and usable — and then we help them apply modern AI tooling to it responsibly.

We are deliberate about scope: we do not sell speculative AI projects. We build the foundations that make AI useful, and we deploy AI only where it produces measurable operational value.

Areas of focus:

  • Data architecture and quality assessment
  • Cloud-native data platforms
  • Operational reporting and management dashboards
  • Targeted AI deployment for measurable operational outcomes
  • Responsible AI governance for regulated environments
05

Programme Delivery & Assurance

For clients running their own large programmes, we provide independent delivery leadership and technical assurance — programme directors, technical architects, and quality reviewers who can be embedded into existing structures.

Our role is to be the people in the room who will speak plainly about a programme — early, in writing, and to whoever needs to hear it.

Engagement types:

  • Embedded programme directors and technical leads
  • Independent technical assurance reviews
  • Vendor and supplier oversight
  • Recovery of programmes in difficulty
  • Quality and delivery audits
